SOLO VIOLIN. IMPROVISATIONAL.
Entitled “Displaced Dreams", Michalis Kouloumis’ solo violin project is dedicated to all the people who struggle for freedom and dignity after being displaced from their homelands and their dreams.
Purely improvisational, the project brings together material from the Classical music of Constantinople, the laments of Epirus, Baroque Music polyphony and Michalis Kouloumis’ most recent compositions. An emotional journey through the colourful soundscapes of modal music.
“...the most outstanding concert I've heard here...”

Lingua Franca circumnavigates on a musical wandering. A journey during which the rich Eastern Mediterranean traditions and Western music elements blend and compose a colourful soundscape using music as their common language.
The ensemble creates and performs music with respect to the character of the modal music cultures. Being free from the need to create expressive exaggerations, Lingua Franca leads the audience on an emotional journey, offering euphoria.
The debut album will be released in summer 2015 and will include our own compositions.
